Yasmin Beydoun

Decent Work and Health Network

Speaker Bio

Yasmin Beydoun is a speech language pathologist and member of the Decent Work and Health Network. She works at a hospital in acute care where she consistently sees patients getting sick without the paid sick days they need to stay home and recover.

The DWHN is a network of health providers based in Ontario who advocate for better health by addressing employment conditions. The DWHN has highlighted how inequitable access to paid sick days has had a disproportionate impact in the lives of low-income, immigrant, and racialized patients; and just a few weeks ago released a groundbreaking report that showed just how income, status, and other working conditions have an impact on patient outcomes.
