A Message from Ann Waller, LiUNA Local 3000 President
I want to take this opportunity to update our membership and share how Local 3000 is responding to the advisories and restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have taken all precautions to ensure that we are in compliance with the latest recommendations issued by public health authorities. In particular, we have assessed how best to carry on the day-to-day business of Local 3000 to ensure that our employees, members and the public are protected while still being available to support our stewards and members.
Effective immediately, our office in Hamilton will be closed. However, the main phone line has been forwarded and will be answered by our office staff. Our administration team will be working remotely and diligently to keep our business up to date.
Our Business Representatives, Organizers, Legal Department and all other union staff will also be working remotely and will be available by cell phone and email. All unnecessary travel has been restricted for the next two weeks and will be re-assessed regularly. All staff is equipped and ready to continue to support you during these unprecedented travel restrictions. We are doing our part to make sure we do not contribute to the spread of COVID-19, but we are not going to stop working for you and ensuring that your rights are protected and your workplaces are safe. We are still on the job!
To all our stewards…thank you for your excellent questions and for supporting our members. You continue to be the first line of contact for our members and with the Employer in these challenging times. Please reach out to your business representatives or head office for any assistance you may need.
